A brief message from Team Rich Smith for Milford:
We are so grateful to each and every one of you for your support. For asking the tough questions, sharing your perspectives, and making your voices heard. Thank you for being a part of the process and for showing up to vote this election season.
Throughout this campaign, Rich has been listening, hearing your concerns, learning from your conversations at the doors and community conversations, and gaining a deeper understanding of the issues that matter most to Milford. This Election Day, that message was heard loud and clear.
We’re humbled by the trust you’ve placed in Rich’s vision for Milford and truly energized by the work ahead. He’s ready to get to work for all of you.
Stay tuned for a message from Mayor-Elect Rich Smith coming soon.
Meet Mayor Rich Smith
Rich was raised in Milford, attending Kay Avenue Elementary (now WSMS) and Jonathan Law High School before earning a degree from Yale University and studying Public Policy at Trinity College. Rich married his high school sweetheart, Michelle Morano. They have three daughters; Rebecca, Melissa, and Meghan; a son-in-law, Aaron Sanner; and two beautiful granddaughters. Rich served as our 11th Mayor prior to passing the baton to new leadership.
He is stepping up to serve again because he believes we need to get Milford back on track. In his career, Rich has held executive leadership positions at prestigious companies like AT&T, PepsiCo, Dun & Bradstreet, and The Hartford. Throughout his career Rich was responsible for process re-engineering and the use of technology to impact efficiency and drive down operational costs.
As Mayor, Rich will bring that executive experience back to City Hall to implement cost mitigation measures and seek out new revenue streams without placing the burden on resident taxpayers. Rich Smith will ensure a brighter and more fiscally responsible future for Milford families.
